கலையரசி விழாக்குழுத்தலைவ
கனடா யாழ்.இந்துக்கல்லூரி சங்கத்தின் வருடாந்த கலைநிகழ்வு நடைபெறுகின்றது. இவ் விழாவினை முன்னிட்டு வெளிவரும் சிற விழாக்குழுத் தலைவர் என்ற வகையில் இச்செய்தியை எழுதுவ அடைகிறேன்.
இந்நிகழ்வின் முக்கிய நோக்கம் இப் புலம்பெயர் நாட்டில் எமது பாரம்பரிய வாழ்க்கை முறை ஆகியவற்றைத் தொடர்ந்து பேணி இந்நாட்டில் எந்தச் சமூகமும் தனது பாரம்பரியத்தை பேணிப்பா இந்நாட்டின் சிறப்பான அம்சம் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
கல்லூரியின் ஆரம்ப காலம் முதல் இன்றுவரை எமது கல்லூரி அகில இலங்கையில் உள்ள முன்னணிப் பாடசாலைகளில் ஒ விழா அநேகமாக சரஸ்வதி பூசையின் இறுதிநாளை அண்டியே கல்லூரியின்மேல் அருள் பாலிக்கும் சரஸ்வதிக்கு நன்றி கூறும்
இது போன்ற விழா உலகத்தில் ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் கொண்டாடப்படுவது போற்றப்பட வேண்டிய விடயம். யாழ்ப்பா6 ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட ஆங்கிலக் கல்லூரி என்ற வகையில் அதன் 6 சைவ உணர்வையும் ஊட்டிய இந்து அன்னைக்கு நாம் என்றெ

சமூகத்தின் கலை, பண்பாடு, கலாசாரம், க்காப்பதே. பல்லின மக்கள் வாழும் துகாப்பதில் ஒரு தடையுமில்லை என்பது
பரீட்சை பெறுபேறுகளைப் பொறுத்த மட்டில்
ன்றாகத் திகழ்ந்திருக்கிறது. இக் “கலையரசி" நடாத்தப் படுகின்றமையால் இவ் விழா எமது விழா என்றும் கருத முடியும்.

யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கல்லூரிச் சங்கம் - கனடாவின் வருடாந்த நி நிகழ்ச்சி "கலைஅரசி-2011”, ஐப்பசி மாதம் 08ம் திகதி, சனிக்கிழ6 இருக்கின்றாள். இவ் விழாவினை ஒட்டி வெளிவரவிருக்கும் மலருக இந்த ஆசிச் செய்தியை எழுதுவதில் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். "எவ்விடம் ஏகினும், எத்துயர் நேரினும், எம் அன்னை நின்னலம் மறே உணர்வு பூர்வமான பற்றுக்களால் உருவாகியவையே புலம்பெயர் நா சங்கங்களும், கல்லூரிச் சங்கங்களும். அதற்கு நாம் விதிவிலக்கான கல்லூரிச் சங்கம், இரு தசாப்தங்களைக் கடந்து, மூன்றாவது தசா பயணித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றாள். இக்காலத்தில் எமது சங்கட இராப்போசன விருந்துகளையும், வெளிக்கள ஒன்றுகூடல்களையும், ! தொடர்ந்து நடாத்தி, பழைய மாணவர்களை இணைத்து, அதனால் நன்கொடைகள் மூலமும் எமது கல்லூரியின் நற்பணிகளுக்கும், ம6 வந்துள்ளது. இவ்வருடம் கல்லூரியின் அபிவிருத்திகளுக்கும், மனி: விரிவுபடுத்தும் நன் நோக்குடன், ஒரு விசேடநிதி சேர்க்கும் குழுவையு எமது சங்கம் வளர வேண்டும்; எமது பணிகள் தொடர வேண்டும்; 6 பேணப்பட வேண்டும்; எமது கல்லூரி என்றும் தமிழர் தலை நிமிர் எம்மினம் அறிவும், ஆற்றலும், ஆளுமையும் பெற்று, பேய் பிசாசுகளின் சீரழிவின்றி, மீண்டும் சுதந்திரமாகவும், சுயாதீனமாகவும், சுபீட்சம் டெ எல்லோருக்கும், இருக்குமென்பதில் எனக்கு ஐயமில்லை. ஈழத் மாத்திரமல்ல, எமது பழைய மாணவர்களின் வழித்தோன்றல்க சிறப்பிக்கவிருக்கிறார்கள். இக் கலைநிகழ்வு எமது கலை, கலாசாரங் இருக்குமென்பதை, நடைபெறவிருக்கின்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகள் மூலம் மாணவர்களும், நலன்விரும்பிகளும், இவ்விழாவில் குடும்பத்தி ஆக்கங்களுக்கு ஊக்கமும், நோக்கங்களை நோக்கிய செயற்ப வேண்டுகின்றேன். "மனிதன் தானாகப் பிறக்கவுமில்லை; தனக்காக மட்டும் பிறக்க பெரியாரின் கூற்று. இவ்வுணர்வு எங்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் இருக்கு மறுமலர்ச்சியையும், முன்னேற்றத்திற்கான மாற்றங்களையும் காண விட்டோம்; இனி நமக்கென்ன என்று இருக்காமல், நாம் எல்லோ நலனுக்காக உதவ நாமாக முன் வரவேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக் கொ6 வேண்டுமென, சங்கத்தின் தலைவர் என்ற ரீதியில் ஆசி கூறி விடை ெ

I joined Jaffna Hindu College in 1957 at Grade 4. That was fifty foul names of those teachers who have shaped my life till this day. That our school and educators.

கல்லூரியின் அபிவிருத்திகேற்ற கருத்திட்டங்களை வகுப்பதுடன் மட்டு நிலைக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்ட, வன்னியில் கல்வி பயிலும் இளம் சிற வழங்கியுள்ளோம். கல்லூரி வளர்ச்சி, தாய் நாட்டுத் தமிழ்ச் சமூக துயர் இலக்குகளாகக் கொண்டு செயற்படுகின்றோம். இதுவரை எம்முடன் ஆசிரியர்களையும், அங்கத்தவர்களாக இணைந்து, சங்கத்துக்கு

Served as Head of the Department of Mathematics in both schools. Left Jaffna Hindu College in 1979 to take up teaching at Kaduna State in Nigeria. Posted at Govt. President and Secretary of the West Jaffna Teachers Association and member of the ExCo and the Examination Council of the NPTA. Treasurer of the NPTA Benovalent Fund for many years. Retired under the language clause in 1977. Went to Nigeria in 1981 on a five year contract to teach. Migrated to Canada in 1986.

WHO HIT THE LON SIX IN THE WORLD
The cricketer who hit the longest six in the world was no less a person than the son of the celebrated Principal of J.H.C., Nevins Selvadurai.He was A.J. D.N.Selvadurai.It is said, that while playing for St. Thomas College in a match against St. Beneditcs College at St. Thomas College grounds, a sixer hit by him fell into the Guards Wagon of an express train bound to Panadura and the ball travelled nearly 10 miles, before it was returned the following day.
It may be recalled that A.J. D.N.Selvadurai though not an Old Boy of J.H.C., started his cricketing career at the J.H.C. quadrangle. A few of his playmates were Navaratnam (R.M.P.), Kandiah(Milk White).Tharmalingam(Thurai & Co.). எனது இருபது வருட ஆசிரியப்பணியில் கடைசி ஏழு வருடங்கள் இலங்கையின் புகழ்பூத்த பாடசாலைகளில் ஒன்றான யாழ் இந்துக்கல்லூரியில் கற்பிக்கும் சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைத்தது. 2000ஆம் ஆண்டு. திரு.ழரீகுமரன் அவர்கள் அதிபராக இருந்தகாலத்தில் ஆசிரியப்பணி தொடங்கி திரு.கணேசராசா அவர்கள் அதிபராக இருந்தகாலத்தில் தனிப்பட்ட காரணங்களால் நிறைவு செய்ய வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. முதல் நாள் யாழ் இந்துக்கல்லூரிக்குச் சென்று கடமை ஏற்ற நாளை நினைத்துப் பார்க்கின்றேன். வெள்ளை வெளேரென்ற பளிச்சென்ற தோற்றத்தில் ஒருவர் கம்பீரமாக நடந்து வருகிறார். என்னைக்கண்டதும் வரவேற்று "First you sign" என்று தனக்கே உரிய அதிபர் மிடுக்குடன் கூறினார். அவர்தான் அவ்வேளை அதிபராக இருந்த பூரீகுமரன் அவர்கள். பின்னர் குமாரசுவாமி மண்டபத்தில் முதல் நாளுக்குரிய அறிமுக நிகழ்வு நடைபெற்றது. அங்கே முன்னாள் அதிபர்களின் படங்கள் முறைதவறாது மாட்டி இருந்ததைக்கண்டேன். அருகில் இருந்த ஆசிரியர் அவர்களைப்பற்றிப் பெருமையாககக் கூறினார். கேட்டு மகிழ்ந்தேன்.
யாழ் இந்துக்கல்லூரியில் ஒவ்வொரு தரத்திலும் மீத்திறன் மாணவர்கள் வகுப்பு என்று ஒரு வகுப்பு அமைந்திருக்கும். அவர்களே க.பொ.த(சாதாரணlஉயர்தர) பரீட்சைகளில் உன்னத பெறுபேறுகளைப்பெற்று கல்லூரிக்குப்பெருமை சேர்ப்பவர்கள். ஆனாலும் ஏனைய வகுப்புகளில் கல்விகற்கும் மாணவர்களும் அவரவர்களுக்குப் போகும் ஏதோ ஒரு துறையில் முன்னணியில் திகழ்வதையும் அவதானிக்கலாம்.
